The New York Times Pilots of the doomed jets in Ethiopia and Indonesia lacked 2 notable safety features. One reason: Boeing charged extra for them.

There is something wrong when safety features are considered upgrades!!
The price of corporate greed: 346 lives...
FAA should have mandated these parts be required!!! Not optional!!! Parts were charged as UPGRADES by Boeing?? That's CRIMINAL!!!
so airlines picked profits over safety, gotcha
Yet another unfounded, incorrect and misleading piece to cover up the broken regulatory approval system that allowed the Boing 373-Max airplanes. Ethiopian Airlines safety record is implacable and its pilots are competent with more than 70 years of service under their belt. The world doesn’t care if #Boing|’s reputation is in jeopardy, the world demands the truth - the only truth that will avert such tragedies from occurring again.
Disgusting. Boeing bagged BILLIONS in military contracts for “defense” spending last year alone. Safety gear should not be an add-on. Corporate greed from soulless monsters who just can’t profit enough takes hundreds of lives and it can be guaranteed that nobody at Boeing will be held accountable, or even bat an eye at what they’ve caused. It’s sick.
How disgusting. It’s always about money isn’t never about human life
Hope the kin of the victims sue the pants of both Boeing and the regulator involved.
Welcome to #LateCapitalism. Safety is an expense, not a feature.

The New York Times The Boeing jets that crashed in Ethiopia and Indonesia lacked 2 safety features that could have warned of a malfunction. They would have cost the airlines extra — the kind of upgrade that can be lucrative for plane manufacturers.

“... you want an airplane that doesn’t crash?
That’ll cost you extra...”
There is something wrong when safety features are considered upgrades.
The almighty dollar, at work again.
Again money over people's well being.
This is why I cant comprehend some people arguments that corporations will do the right thing without government regulations.
Boeing should be put out of business. They should build planes that do not require upgrades to flight properly. Putting greed above human lives is unconscionable.
Scapegoat. Boeing must face the law for killing valuable humans. Too arrogant
This calls for a class action by victims' families on Boeing. Safety systems s not a compromise, re uppose to be inbuilt into the air craft...not an option that should be bought on a separate package if the buyer feels like it.
Remember when Boeing's CEO response letter to a crash that killed 157 people said "Saftey is at the core of who we are at Boeing"..I guess he left out that it cost extra and he was right when safety is just another word for profit. Where the hell is the FAA! Do your job. This is like if car manufactures charged extra for seat belts. Saftey should NEVER cost extra! Boeing doesn't get brownie point for doing the right thing after so many people have died.
Should've never charged for safety features in the first place. Safety is #1, especially and specifically in that industry.
Might want to fix this Boeing....your reputation is competing with your stock price

Nothing to see here.. just China Computer Chips..that can turn it On/Off
All blames for the MAX 7 disaster go to Big Boeing via the FAA.
Did Boeing and FAA collude to compromise the safety of crews and passengers?
FBI is supposed to answer this and other questions...
So, they'll investigate for over 2 years, not sure of what they are looking for, or why, and then claim there must've been Russian collusion that coerced the boards decision to re-certify the 737 MAX...
