Wayne Gallops Something for Senator Graham: you've announced that you wish to be President of all Americans, let's start in your home state if SC. As a white southerner, when I hear folks speak of southern pride, I ask "proud of what the confederacy represented" -

My grandfather was a Lee (James Henry Lee), my ggggreat uncle was R.E. Lee. The stars n bars represents the confederacy, not "southern pride", values, or ancestry. I think it's time all of our southern states rejoin the "union", fully , as R.E. Lee implored after the civil war.
Not to belabor the point , but I do think it's time for a national discussion on this and time for white southerners to stand up for what is right (just as we ask our moderate Muslim friends to do). My southern heritage began at Stratford Hall, long before there was a "confederacy" or "stars n bars". In fact that part of southern history lasted only 4years therefore, one's southern identity and heritage should not depend on such a short lived and spurious symbol- Unless, one truly stands for what that symbol stood (past tense) for : secession, economic oligarchy, racism, slavery, segregation, etc.. I implore you to stand for what's right and for symbology indicative of the values Americans share. I challenge you to present a bill prohibiting the display of the confederate battle flag at any location or organization funded by public funds: federal, state, or local.
