We will have some of the most influential people in our community at this event. Anybody that is anybody will be at this event. You do not want to miss this event. Two years ago, we had a theme called the “An Evening of Jazz at the Cotton Club”. That event put our organization on the map and it was a sold-out event because of it. It made history. The success of our event is credit largely to our sponsors, who lend their names and financial support to the event. The money we raised each year goes to scholarships for local high school students and community initiatives, and this year’s profit goal is $20,000. So, we decided to do it again this year with a different twist, “An Evening at the Oscars”.
The Ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Upsilon Kappa Omega Chapter ask for your support again to help make this event a success. We are an organization with a vision and we stand for purpose. We are ladies that empower lives by ACTS (Assisting Communities Through Service). The values that have led to the successful achievement of our vision are: Communication, Sisterliness, Patience, Teamwork, Supportive Attitudes, Good Planning, Understanding, Listening, and Open-mindedness. This is what makes us “Women of Distinction”. The Ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Upsilon Kappa Omega Chapter want to pass that on to our community and most of all, the children of the future. In order for us to do this, we need you to help in facilitating in this effort to raise enough money to send as many high school students off to college. The more money we raise, the more we can give back to the community such as the Asthma Action Group’s Asthma Fair and Camp, Human Trafficking Awareness, Sandhills Heart Walk, the Veterans, Women’s Shelter, Home, Bag Packs school supplies to local schools, and The Bicycle Man annual giveaway scholarships.
So, please come out to support this event so that you may facilitate in giving back to the community to support the scholarship fund and the community.
Thank you in advance for your support!
