The name of the extortionist is Mohammad Zia Sardar (32) son of SaburAli Sardar who demanded Taka three lacks from the Hindu Priest long 3 to 4 days ago. Zia Sardar also threatened Pankaj Sarkar if he fails to pay such amount of money he would be killed. Subsequently the Priest has been taken to nearest Hospital for treatment. His physical condition is reported to be critical. I, on behalf of Bangladesh Minority Watch contacted with Md. Asaduzzaman- Officer in Charge of Asasuni police station over mobile No.01713374147 who confirmed the incident. He also said a case has been registered by Palash Sarkar son of Pankaj Sarkar ( Mobile No.01711458521 ) at his police station being Asasuni P.S. case No.14 dated 06.05.2016 under section 143/447/323/326/307/385 of penal code against the perpetrator. Md. Asaduzzaman also said he is trying to arrest the perpetrator and he engaged S.I. Abdur Razzak to investigate the incident. Bangladesh Minority Watch is very much concerned about the incident of attempt to murder of Hindu priest at Asasuni Upzila and we also demand immediate arrest of perpetrator responsible for attempt to murder and bring him to justice. BDMW also demand urgent medical assistance to victim for his quick recovery.
