The more I train, the more I have realized 90% of people considered experienced lifters are lazy. They train a bodypart once a week with 8 sets , place psychological limits on everything from how much muscle they can gain per year, how much weight Read more ...
they can do for x reps, how big x body part can get ect. They tell others and themselves they have bad genetics, think one chicken breast is enough protein to fuel their workouts, and they hop routines about as often as they change their clothes. They bounce mediocrity off each other like a ping-pong match between Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris and are quick to tell you that they "can't grow".
BUT THE LAST TIME I CHECKED we are all humans, meaning we are arguably the most adaptive organism on the planet. If you stay out in the sun extended periods of time your skin will create more melanin (darkening in color )to protect you from future outings. If you get too cold your body will enter frostbite and sacrifice its digits/ limbs to keep its core temperature up , and if a martial artist pounds on a hard surface enough his bones will get denser so he can amaze the world by breaking cement blocks. More importantly IF YOU stress your muscular system enough it will overcompensate and come back bigger and stronger,.
If a sick kid like me can go from being 6 feet tall , 18 years old and 100 lbs soaking wet to 212 lean with 19 inch arms, 14.75 inch forearms , a 48 inch chest , 26.5 inch thighs and 17 inch calves YOU can accomplish whatever you want through resistance training.. All you have to do is your best EVERYDAY and leave the excuses to losers; everything else will fall into place.
My most recent achievement was my calves, a year ago they were around 12 .5 inches because I had been close to 100lbs 90% of my life. I had been told about 232 times it was "genetics bro" and I could not do anything about it. I gave into this constant mediocre thinking my first year of bodybuilding but finally decided that I was sending my calves to heaven because I was going to train the hell out of them. What did I have to lose? What were they going to do about it, get even smaller? Well they didn't, I trained them constantly and they grew, 13.. 14... 15,....16 ....and now they sit at 16.75 . Impressive? Not yet, but at least they are not 12.
My advice to anyone looking to change their physique is to make today not just Monday, March 10th, 2014, make today the end of all your excuses, the death of all your doubts; and the new beginning of your story.
