It is our privilege to share the journey of our life with all of you today. How does one capture the shocking loss, the acute agony and the arduous struggle ???. How does one even capture the process of loss turning into gain, agony into ecstasy and struggle into success??. It is almost impossible to translate these experiences into words . But we are going to try by reaching deep into the crevices of our souls today. Yes our wings got clipped but we soared with our mind . Yes it was a long journey, but not without a victory. Friends we are here to share the essence of that victory as we strongly feel that if we can, everybody can.
Our story is an immensely inspiring, life transforming example of resilience, grit and the audacity to defy death and survive victoriously. Despite being neck downwards completely paralyzed for the past 16 gruelling years, we have overcome tremendous adversities and hundreds of negative situations by realizing and understanding the incredible potential of the untapped mind which lies dormant within each one of us and by accessing the superhuman within. We have personally discovered and developed the modus operandi to tap into the infinite and unleash the ultimate human potential for a happy and successful life. Throughout life, we have learnt how to transform victim into Victory and trial into Triumph.
I'm Girish Gogia and when I was in Goa to usher in the Millennium, a miscalculated dive into the ocean resulted in instant paralysis neck downwards, leaving me at the mercy of the deep waters which lay ahead. However, I was saved by a mystery woman, who, after rescuing me from drowning, brought me ashore and revived me. She disappeared so quickly that I didn’t even get a chance to thank her. My new Millennium began with the doctor declaring that my cervical spinal cord nerves had been entirely pulverized and that I was now neck downwards (90%) paralyzed, for life. Then came the second jolt, where I was very bluntly told that there was absolutely no cure that could reverse the cataclysmic damage and that the chances of survival were zero, and if I did survive, I would have to live the rest of my life as a vegetable. I was devastated on hearing this defeatist prognosis, but because of my unshakeable faith and robust tenacity, I gathered all my courage and replied to the doctor, “I appreciate your diagnosis, but I refuse to accept your verdict”. Rock bottom became the foundation on which I rebuilt my life, and in contradiction to the doomed prophecy of the experts, I have managed to live and attain happiness for the last 16 years.
This is why I'm known as "The Positive Man". For 16 long years I’ve lived my life as a die-hard optimist, considering each day a new miracle. I have done so by persevering through thousands of hours of self-talk and deep thinking to having numerous conversations with the Universe which have helped me understand life to its deepest core. Equipped with this knowledge, my wife Mrs. Eesha Gogia (who is also 90% paralyzed, due to Multiple Sclerosis - which we positively like to term "Multiple Specialty") and I, have initiated a global mission, called, "Mission Positive Earth", which aims to touch and light up 7 billion lives around the globe. We, as a neck downwards completely paralyzed couple, feel that our paralysis is a blessing in disguise, and consider it God’s Gift. We’re grateful that the Almighty found us capable to handle such adversity and uncover the hidden opportunities in them, thereby making a difference in the world. We are amazed that the very events which were the biggest losses in our lives eventually turned into our biggest strengths. We have learned how to keep the flame of marital love burning bright despite both of us being paralyzed neck downwards. We constantly strive to ignite hope in our audience through our own example, and inculcate the belief that they can achieve whatever they desire. We've committed the rest of our lives to this mission and will stay true to it till our very last breath.
My steadfast positive attitude and undying optimism has helped me face seemingly insurmountable obstacles like managing and transforming callous caregivers into compassionate humans, and even continuing my work as an interior designer, post paralysis. I believe that commitment is paramount in reaching the pinnacle of performance. Using my willpower, discipline and enduring passion, I worked on 15 interior designing projects (post paralysis) including the refurbishing of the massive Mumbai Central station and CST, two of the biggest landmarks of India’s financial capital, Mumbai. However, in 2010, despite my interior designing business flourishing, I felt that something was missing. I would fall asleep every night feeling empty. That’s when I realized that I’m here on earth, in the condition that I’m in, so that I can spread my story and brighten the lives of billions. Soon afterwards I shut down my thriving interior designing business to answer a divine calling from within, and began the process of reinventing myself as an Inspirational/Motivational speaker. I had to strive to learn new skills, and spent thousands of hours researching on the functioning of the speaking industry, and training myself for my chosen mission. I also designed my own ingenious workshop module - a light hearted, entertaining approach to instill my message of positivity and hope in the audience, breaking away from the norm of monotonous lectures.
I started off by visiting various old age homes, orphanages and municipal schools; because I believed that they were the ones in dire need of encouragement, and were most open to my message.
Throughout my journey I knew that I had the unconditional support of the Universe herself. I knew that God had chosen me for this mission - that I was his Hope Messenger; and thus I had nothing to fear and could crush all obstacles with ease. Every cell in my body was completely committed to this task, and though I had never addressed an audience ever before - my speech was received with a thunderous applause. This gave me immense confidence and I went on to address even larger audience which included corporates, educational institutions and non profit organisations.
After reading my story in the book - Chicken Soup for the Indian Soul by Jack Canfield, Dolly Thakore invited me to address the most elite members of an organisation at Hotel Taj Palace, Mumbai. The fact that I could inspire billions of minds was fuelling me to become the best version of myself. This ignited a burning desire in me to make such an incredible difference in the world that it broke the shackles of my disabled condition.
Today, I have managed to inspire people all around the globe by instilling hope in their hearts through my motivational sessions which I like to call "Hope Factory". And I also make it a point to connect with them through social media to uplift their spirits.
My wife and I felt that as human beings it was our duty and moral responsibility to share our compelling life experiences with our brothers and sisters all over the world to spread the awareness that the deepest core of every human being is a field of infinite possibilities. We consider the entire world to be one Global Family, duly loving and respecting all of them unconditionally. We believe that giving is the highest level of living. Empathetically understanding that there is tremendous amount of negativity in the world and people are completely stressed out and give up easily, we encourage people to keep the flame of Hope alive in their hearts, and hold ourselves as living examples of the fact that the human spirit is far stronger than anything that could happen to it.
In my workshops/seminars, I share with the audience all the lessons I’ve learnt in life, and all the attributes I’ve developed by facing challenges head on. I tell them about the potentially fatal ailments that I have been able to heal by myself; as I help them understand the undiscovered, latent power within them, while dealing with topics like limitless mind power and the boundless Human Potential which lie unlocked within each one of us. I know that “Knowledge is treasure”, but practice is the key to it and I guide the audience on how to apply these lessons so that they can turn their dreams into reality. I aim to help people live their highest vision, to be resilient like a rock, to wake up the ever present human will through determination, and to fan the flames of their passion till it becomes a scorching sizzling inferno. I believe that ultimately the collective energy of billions of humans can achieve anything, including fighting climate change and attaining world peace. After all human beings are born to win. It is in our hands to sow the seeds for a better tomorrow and realize that our I can’s, I am’s and I will’s are far more important than our IQ.
Since I’m neck downwards completely paralyzed, I cannot move an inch on my own, nor drink a drop of water on my own and neither can I eat a single morsel of food on my own. I’m completely dependent on my caregivers round the clock. They feed me, bathe me, clean me and change me. I have no sensation below my neck. So if I get hurt somewhere I cannot feel it and then healing takes a while. It takes me about 3 hours to get dressed and get onto the wheelchair.
I’m dependent on a lot of people, like my parents, caregivers and driver. I’m blessed to have these trustworthy people to depend on and they are my family. I give them perfect instructions so that they can handle me perfectly and put me in the proper sitting positions. There have been times when I’ve had severe and painful bed sores and still gone forth and conducted my Seminars, simply because when I commit to something, no matter what, I stick with it. To top that, when I think of the blessings and good will I earn from the wonderful people whose lives I would be making a difference in, it charges me up and then these challenges no longer seem daunting.
Most people define success merely in terms of monetary wealth. However, our aim is to earn the good wishes and blessings of people across the globe, as we consider it to be the only true wealth. Someone once asked me how much money I made by doing this. I replied that my current turnover is a staggering 7 billion good wishes and blessings. It is a Global Mission like I’d mentioned earlier. It is by Humanity, for Humanity. I believe that, “Man made the money, money never made the man”.
Though in the beginning we did face some obstacles, we firmly believe that when you have a noble thought in your mind, a pulsating desire to make a difference in the lives of billions, when you have committed to something with all your heart and soul as we have, then success is the only possible end result. It is said that we make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give. And I sincerely believe in giving unconditionally and receiving graciously.

IT DOES NOT MATTER IN LIFE THAT I HAVE NECK DOWNWARDS PARALYSIS. WHAT REALLY MATTERS IS THAT I HAVE NECK UPWARDS WISE AND POSITIVE ANALYSIS. My steadfast positive attitude and undying optimism has helped me face seemingly insurmountable obstacles like managing and transforming callous caregivers into compassionate humans, and even continuing my work as an interior designer, post paralysis. I believe that commitment is paramount in reaching the pinnacle of performance. Using my willpower, discipline and enduring passion, I worked on 15 interior designing projects (post paralysis) including the refurbishing of the massive Mumbai Central station and CST, two of the biggest landmarks of India’s financial capital, Mumbai. However, in 2010, despite my interior designing business flourishing, I felt that something was missing. I would fall asleep every night feeling empty. That’s when I realized that I’m here on earth, in the condition that I’m in, so that I can spread my story and brighten the lives of billions. Soon afterwards I shut down my thriving interior designing business to answer a divine calling from within, and began the process of reinventing myself as an Inspirational/Motivational speaker. I had to strive to learn new skills, and spent thousands of hours researching on the functioning of the speaking industry, and training myself for my chosen mission. I also designed my own ingenious workshop module - a light hearted, entertaining approach to instill my message of positivity and hope in the audience, breaking away from the norm of monotonous lectures.
I started off by visiting various old age homes, orphanages and municipal schools; because I believed that they were the ones in dire need of encouragement, and were most open to my message.
Throughout my journey I knew that I had the unconditional support of the Universe herself. I knew that God had chosen me for this mission - that I was his Hope Messenger; and thus I had nothing to fear and could crush all obstacles with ease. Every cell in my body was completely committed to this task, and though I had never addressed an audience ever before - my speech was received with a thunderous applause. This gave me immense confidence and I went on to address even larger audience which included corporates, educational institutions and non profit organisations.
After reading my story in the book - Chicken Soup for the Indian Soul by Jack Canfield, Dolly Thakore invited me to address the most elite members of an organisation at Hotel Taj Palace, Mumbai. The fact that I could inspire billions of minds was fuelling me to become the best version of myself. This ignited a burning desire in me to make such an incredible difference in the world that it broke the shackles of my disabled condition.
Today, I have managed to inspire people all around the globe by instilling hope in their hearts through my motivational sessions which I like to call "Hope Factory". And I also make it a point to connect with them through social media to uplift their spirits.
My wife and I felt that as human beings it was our duty and moral responsibility to share our compelling life experiences with our brothers and sisters all over the world to spread the awareness that the deepest core of every human being is a field of infinite possibilities. We consider the entire world to be one Global Family, duly loving and respecting all of them unconditionally. We believe that giving is the highest level of living. Empathetically understanding that there is tremendous amount of negativity in the world and people are completely stressed out and give up easily, we encourage people to keep the flame of Hope alive in their hearts, and hold ourselves as living examples of the fact that the human spirit is far stronger than anything that could happen to it.
In my workshops/seminars, I share with the audience all the lessons I’ve learnt in life, and all the attributes I’ve developed by facing challenges head on. I tell them about the potentially fatal ailments that I have been able to heal by myself; as I help them understand the undiscovered, latent power within them, while dealing with topics like limitless mind power and the boundless Human Potential which lie unlocked within each one of us. I know that “Knowledge is treasure”, but practice is the key to it and I guide the audience on how to apply these lessons so that they can turn their dreams into reality. I aim to help people live their highest vision, to be resilient like a rock, to wake up the ever present human will through determination, and to fan the flames of their passion till it becomes a scorching sizzling inferno. I believe that ultimately the collective energy of billions of humans can achieve anything, including fighting climate change and attaining world peace. After all human beings are born to win. It is in our hands to sow the seeds for a better tomorrow and realize that our I can’s, I am’s and I will’s are far more important than our IQ.
Since I’m neck downwards completely paralyzed, I cannot move an inch on my own, nor drink a drop of water on my own and neither can I eat a single morsel of food on my own. I’m completely dependent on my caregivers round the clock. They feed me, bathe me, clean me and change me. I have no sensation below my neck. So if I get hurt somewhere I cannot feel it and then healing takes a while. It takes me about 3 hours to get dressed and get onto the wheelchair.
I’m dependent on a lot of people, like my parents, caregivers and driver. I’m blessed to have these trustworthy people to depend on and they are my family. I give them perfect instructions so that they can handle me perfectly and put me in the proper sitting positions. There have been times when I’ve had severe and painful bed sores and still gone forth and conducted my Seminars, simply because when I commit to something, no matter what, I stick with it. To top that, when I think of the blessings and good will I earn from the wonderful people whose lives I would be making a difference in, it charges me up and then these challenges no longer seem daunting.
Most people define success merely in terms of monetary wealth. However, our aim is to earn the good wishes and blessings of people across the globe, as we consider it to be the only true wealth. Someone once asked me how much money I made by doing this. I replied that my current turnover is a staggering 7 billion good wishes and blessings. It is a Global Mission like I’d mentioned earlier. It is by Humanity, for Humanity. I believe that, “Man made the money, money never made the man”.
Though in the beginning we did face some obstacles, we firmly believe that when you have a noble thought in your mind, a pulsating desire to make a difference in the lives of billions, when you have committed to something with all your heart and soul as we have, then success is the only possible end result. It is said that we make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give. And I sincerely believe in giving unconditionally and receiving graciously.

HOW DOES IT MATTER IF MY ENTIRE SPINE AND ABDOMEN DO NOT FUNCTION ? HOW DOES IT MATTER IF I CAN’T EAT, DRINK OR BATHE ON MY OWN ? HOW DOES IT MATTER IF ALL FOUR LIMBS DO NOT FUNCTION ?
IT DOES NOT MATTER IN LIFE THAT I HAVE NECK DOWNWARDS PARALYSIS. WHAT REALLY MATTERS IS THAT I HAVE NECK UPWARDS WISE AND POSITIVE ANALYSIS. I STILL HAVE A HEART THAT BEATS, I STILL HAVE A SOUL THAT FEELS, I STILL HAVE A MIND THAT THINKS, I STILL CAN BREATHE, SEE AND LISTEN. WHY WOULD I AND WHY SHOULD I GIVE UP ON LIFE ? I STILL CAN AND WILL CONTRIBUTE MY BIT TO MAKE THIS WORLD A BETTER PLACE TILL MY LAST BREATH.
Difficulties and challenges are never ending, but life would be boring if there were no obstacles to overcome. You can view a hurdle as a problem, or as one of the many twists and turns in the rollercoaster of life that ultimately make it an enjoyable ride.
Our message to our readers is that if we can do it, then anyone can. We believe that if you pour your heart and soul into living your life, then life will reward you with opportunities to do even greater things than you ever dreamt possible. No possibility, no eventuality, no catastrophe, can impede the robust tenacity of the determined soul.
