For instance, the play above—where Harrison Barnes expertly passes the ball to an open Steph Curry via Hassan Whiteside's outstretched arm—isn't currently recorded as a Shabazz Assist, and that's a problem. So, for now, the new working definition of a Shabazz Assist is "any intentionally missed shot that leads directly to a three-point field goal."
