The rest of the poor are dumped (low wage workers are one job loss from losing everything, and you can't get a job once you no longer have a home address, phone, bus fare.) Secondly, food stamps are only for the elderly poor, the disabled and the working poor. There is no help for the jobless poor. I'm one of those bums on Social Security. Since January, I saw my abundant food stamp "handout" cut from $98 per month, down to $16. Food stamps aren't a handout, dummies. Recipients and their families have paid into the food stamp program for years, via their own wages/taxes. Massive corporate tax cuts are handouts -- the tax bills owed by the rich are merely passed along to be paid by the working class.
