NPR The attack that killed NPR journalists David Gilkey and Zabihullah Tamanna in Afghanistan last June was not random. New details have emerged that show the Taliban knew they were coming -- and waited to strike, in broad daylight.

The WorldPost Gilkey, 50, died alongside NPR’s Afghan interpreter Zabihullah Tamanna, 38, when the Afghan army unit they were traveling with came under attack.
