In the coming months, the city of Watertown will once again step up to the Read more ... task of choosing a leader to guide it through the next four years. As a community member of Watertown, I want what is best for this great city and to see us grow and prosper.
Most importantly, we need someone who will exhibit leadership. No more of this bickering of what Watertown needs. Listen to this community. They have opinions and thoughts and they will speak out, you just have to listen. Watertown has much to offer. The New York State Zoo, the Alex Duffy Fairgrounds, Black River, The Farmers Market, Fort Drum and the list goes on and on. I have spent a lot of time in this city, walking its streets and talking to its people. I volunteer here, I use the public transportation, I know how hard the struggle is to be in college and working and just making ends meet. I know that many of you feel as I do, this city has so much potential, potential to grow and to be something beautiful. This potential can only be reached with new leadership. Someone who always has time to listen to the community and fight for them. I say this because I have that leadership and talent. Many times I have found myself disappointed by our absentee leadership. After watching our current community leaders fail, I have decided to step up and put my foot down and say this city needs a change and now is the time. I have waited and waited for those who say they know what is best for Watertown to step up and be the change, but yet still no faces have come forward.
If you should trust me with the great responsibility of strengthening our community I pledge to continue my public service to this community. I pledge to work closely with local businesses to find out where they are struggling, I pledge to bring in new businesses, I pledge to plan for more low income housing to be built here in our city. I will work day in and day out to make sure we have all of the resources we need to better this community. It all starts here.
It is my sincere hope that you will consider me for your Mayor. I will fight for you, and your families. I will continue to work towards this progressive era for Watertown. I hope you come along with me and also put your foot down and say enough is enough. Watertown is not just another name on the map, it is a home of 30,000 community members. Are you ready to restore your future?
