Greg McCauley Random question, hoping someone on here can help me....I just moved to korea. Getting help with anything outside of work is literally impossible. My internet was "set up" when i was at work. I came home to see a modem, connected to a wall jack via et Read more ... hernet cord. wall to modem, ethernet cord. I then purchased a wireless router. Here lies the problem. after spending hourrrrs on this, i realized i can unplug the modem completely, and plug my computer directly into the wall. This gives me internet. With the modem plugged into the wall, and my computer plugged into a port on the modem, i have internet. When connecting the router to the modem, the port designated for router/modem, is already used up by the modem to wall cord. First of all, do i need a modem at all? Is my building hosting a network and i'm not aware? How do i connect my wireless router to my modem?? i've tried everything. i can not get any sort of wireless signal from my router. i've googled every article i can think of, i'm still lost. side note....did i get ripped off even having internet "hooked up"?? why am i able to get a connection directly via wall jack to computer? The network name on the is "home network 2" btw. How do i hook up my wireless router??!!! oh ya, the router didn't come with any instructions, and is completely in korean. Anyways, TIA to an help or comments!
